Returns, Exchanges & Warranty
We want you to feel confident in your GLYDE purchase. If your size is not right or you need help with a product, contact us so we can guide you through the next step.
This policy applies to products purchased directly from GLYDE, operated by Drip Dry Limited. If you purchased from another retailer, please contact that retailer first.
Our returns policy and express warranties are additional to your rights under applicable consumer law.
1. Our 30-day return policy
We offer change-of-mind returns and size exchanges within 30 days of delivery, subject to the conditions below.
To qualify, your product must:
- Be unused and only tried on carefully
- Be clean, dry and free from odours
- Be in perfect, resalable condition
- Have all original tags attached and unbroken
- Be returned with its original packaging
- Have no marks, cuts, nail nicks, damage or signs of wear
Please contact us within 30 days of delivery to arrange your return. You will need proof of purchase, such as your order number or receipt.
These conditions apply to voluntary change-of-mind returns. They do not restrict your rights where a product is faulty, incorrectly supplied or does not match its description.
2. Products discounted by more than 20%
Products purchased at more than 20% off their regular price qualify for store credit only, rather than a refund, for change-of-mind returns, including choosing the wrong size.
The discount includes any sale reduction and additional promotional code applied to the product.
The product must meet our standard 30-day return conditions. Approved store credit will equal the amount actually paid for the returned product, excluding delivery charges.
Return shipping is at the customer’s expense. Store credit can be used towards another size or product.
Products discounted by exactly 20% or less remain subject to our standard refund policy.
This restriction does not affect your rights for faulty, incorrectly supplied or misrepresented products, or any mandatory cancellation or refund rights under applicable consumer law.
3. Before exchanging a wetsuit
A new swimming wetsuit should fit closely against the body. It can feel unusually snug if the material has not been moved into the correct position.
Before deciding to exchange it, please:
- Read the fitting instructions supplied with your wetsuit.
- Watch our fitting video.
- Work the material gradually up the legs, hips and torso.
- Check that the crotch and underarms are correctly positioned.
- Contact us if you remain unsure.
You can email Dan@glydeswim.com or text +64 21 808 022 for fitting assistance. Include your height, weight, wetsuit model and size, and explain where the fit feels wrong.
Dan is based in New Zealand, so please allow for time-zone differences when contacting us from overseas.
Keep your wetsuit dry and its tags attached while assessing the fit. Swimming in it makes it ineligible for our voluntary change-of-mind return policy.
4. Wetsuit photographs and condition checks
Every GLYDE wetsuit is photographed front and back before leaving our warehouse. These photographs record its condition before dispatch and help us assess concerns fairly.
Please inspect your wetsuit carefully when it arrives, before trying it on, and take your own clear photographs of the front and back.
If you notice a cut, mark or other concern, contact Dan@glydeswim.com before wearing it.
We also inspect and may photograph wetsuits when they are returned. We consider dispatch photographs, customer photographs, the returned product and other relevant information together when assessing an issue.
Photographs are supporting evidence. Not taking your own photographs does not remove your statutory rights.
5. Trying on your wetsuit without damage
Smooth-skin neoprene can be damaged by fingernails, jewellery, rough surfaces and excessive pulling.
When fitting your wetsuit:
- Remove watches, jewellery and sharp objects.
- Use suitable fitting gloves and take extra care with long nails.
- Grip broad sections of material rather than pinching small areas.
- Move the material upward using small, controlled movements.
- Work slack up from the lower legs rather than forcefully pulling the thigh material to lift the crotch.
- Avoid standing or kneeling on rough surfaces.
- Follow our fitting instructions and video, including the inside-out method where appropriate.
The inside-out method allows you to handle more of the lined inner surface while gradually rolling the wetsuit into position.
Gloves reduce the risk of damage but do not guarantee protection against nail nicks or tears.
Damage caused during fitting may make the product ineligible for a change-of-mind return. Contact us if this happens, as many small neoprene cuts can be repaired.
6. How to arrange a return
Email Dan@glydeswim.com before sending your product back.
Please include:
- Your name and order number
- The product you want to return
- The reason for returning it
- Whether you want a refund, exchange or store credit
- Your preferred replacement size, if applicable
- Photographs if there is a fault or damage
We will confirm the next steps and any information needed for your return. Refunds remain subject to the discount rules and return conditions above.
7. Return address
Once you have contacted us, send your return to:
GLYDE Returns — Drip Dry Limited
66 Mt Eden Road
Mount Eden, Auckland
New Zealand
Include your name, order number and contact details inside the parcel. Please confirm the full courier address, including postcode, with us before booking an international return.
Returns must be sent or delivered to the agreed address, not handed over at swimming events.
8. Packing your return
Make sure the product is clean and completely dry.
Pack it securely to prevent damage in transit. Avoid tightly compressing wetsuits, placing heavy items on them or allowing zips and sharp objects to press into the neoprene.
Do not attach courier labels or tape directly to the product packaging. Use suitable outer packaging.
We recommend tracked shipping and keeping your dispatch receipt until your return is completed.
9. Return shipping costs
For voluntary change-of-mind returns and size exchanges, you are responsible for return shipping and for ensuring the item reaches us safely.
Original delivery charges are normally not refundable under our change-of-mind policy. Any delivery charge for a replacement item will be confirmed before it is sent.
If we supplied the wrong item or the product has a fault for which we are responsible, we will arrange an appropriate solution, including reasonable return shipping costs where applicable. Contact us before booking return freight.
These arrangements do not override mandatory cancellation or return rights that apply to your purchase.
10. International returns and exchanges
International customers should contact us before sending a return so we can confirm the shipping and customs instructions.
Please describe the parcel accurately as returned goods and follow the courier’s customs requirements. Do not declare a false value.
For voluntary change-of-mind exchanges, you are responsible for international return freight and delivery of the replacement item.
Duties or taxes paid directly to customs or a delivery provider are not refunded by GLYDE. You may be able to apply to the relevant authority or provider for reimbursement.
Because international exchanges can be expensive, we encourage you to contact us for fitting advice first.
11. Inspection, refunds and store credit
We will inspect your return when it arrives and contact you with the outcome.
If your return qualifies, we will process the applicable refund, exchange or store credit.
Approved refunds will normally be returned to the original payment method. Your bank or payment provider may take additional time to display the refund. Currency movements and provider fees may affect the amount received in your local currency.
For products discounted by more than 20%, approved change-of-mind returns will receive store credit for the amount paid for the product.
If an item does not meet our change-of-mind return conditions, we will explain why and discuss returning it to you. Any additional delivery cost will be confirmed first.
12. Replacement availability
Exchanges depend on stock availability.
If your requested size or product is unavailable, we will discuss the available options. This may include another product, store credit or a refund where your purchase qualifies.
Any price difference will be confirmed before the exchange is completed.
13. Products excluded from change-of-mind returns
Change-of-mind returns are not available for products that have been used, altered or damaged.
Where clearly disclosed before purchase, exclusions may also apply to:
- Personalised or customised products
- Gift cards
- Hygiene-sensitive products with protective seals removed
Discounted products remain subject to the store-credit rule above; a discount alone does not make an otherwise eligible product non-returnable.
These exclusions do not remove applicable rights relating to faulty, incorrectly supplied or misrepresented products, or mandatory overseas cancellation rights.
14. GLYDE product warranties
GLYDE provides the following express warranties from the original purchase date:
ProductWarranty periodWetsuits12 monthsGoggles3 monthsRacing suits3 monthsAll other GLYDE products12 months
Our warranties cover manufacturing defects in materials and workmanship.
For wetsuits, this includes manufacturing faults affecting stitching, seams, bonding and construction.
Goggles and racing suits have a shorter express warranty period because they experience demanding use, repeated handling or stretching, and exposure to pool chemicals.
Normal wear and tear is not covered by our express warranty, regardless of when it occurs. However, we assess each claim individually. A problem is not automatically classified as wear and tear simply because the product has been used.
15. What our express warranties do not cover
Our express warranties do not cover damage caused by:
- Fingernails, toenails, jewellery or sharp objects
- Accidental cuts, punctures, tears or abrasions
- Excessive pulling or incorrect fitting
- Contact with rough surfaces
- Incorrect washing, drying or storage
- Excessive heat or prolonged direct sunlight
- Unsuitable chemicals or unapproved lubricants
- Misuse or failure to follow product-care instructions
- Normal wear and tear
Alterations or repairs are excluded where they caused or contributed to the issue being claimed. An unrelated repair does not automatically invalidate an otherwise valid claim.
16. Goggles and racing-suit wear
Goggles and racing suits require careful handling and care after every use.
For goggles, wear may include scratched lenses, stretched straps and gradual reduction in anti-fog performance. For racing suits, wear may include fading, abrasion, reduced elasticity and deterioration associated with repeated use.
These changes may be normal wear, but premature deterioration may still indicate a defect. We will consider the product’s age, price, intended use, care and the circumstances of the problem when assessing a claim.
The three-month express warranty does not mean these products should only last three months.
17. Making a warranty claim
Email Dan@glydeswim.com with:
- Your name and order number or other proof of purchase
- The product name and purchase date
- A description of the problem
- When the problem first appeared
- Clear photographs or video, where possible
- Relevant information about use and care
Please contact us before attempting a repair or sending the product back. We may need to inspect it to determine the cause and appropriate solution.
If a manufacturing defect is confirmed, we will arrange an appropriate repair, replacement or refund in accordance with your applicable rights.
We will cover reasonable return shipping costs where we are responsible for the fault.
18. Faulty, damaged or incorrectly supplied products
If your item arrives damaged, is faulty or is not what you ordered, please contact us promptly.
Keep the product and relevant packaging while we assess the issue. Photographs or video can help, although an inspection may still be needed.
Our 30-day change-of-mind window does not limit your rights concerning faulty products. Original packaging and attached tags are not required to exercise statutory rights.
Likewise, a sale discount does not remove your right to an appropriate remedy. We will not require you to accept store credit where the law entitles you to a refund.
19. Accidental damage and repairs
Neoprene is flexible but can be damaged by fingernails, sharp objects and rough handling.
A nail nick or cut caused while fitting a wetsuit is generally accidental damage rather than a manufacturing fault. We will assess concerns individually.
Many small neoprene cuts can be repaired. We may provide a repair video, offer guidance or recommend an independent wetsuit repairer.
Any paid repair service, cost and timeframe must be agreed before work begins.
20. Looking after your products
Follow the care instructions supplied with each product.
For wetsuits, this generally means rinsing with cool fresh water after use, drying away from direct sunlight and heat, and storing carefully without excessive compression.
For goggles and racing suits, rinse after use and follow the product-specific drying, cleaning and storage instructions. Avoid rubbing the inside of goggle lenses unless the manufacturer’s instructions permit it.
Damage caused by incorrect care may fall outside our express warranty where that care caused or contributed to the problem.
21. Your consumer rights continue
Our express warranty periods are additional to your legal rights. They are not a limit on how long a product should reasonably last.
Expiry of the 12-month or three-month express warranty does not automatically mean you have no claim. Products must still meet applicable legal requirements for quality, durability and fitness for purpose.
Nothing in this policy excludes or restricts your rights under the New Zealand Consumer Guarantees Act 1993, Fair Trading Act 1986 or other applicable mandatory consumer law.
International customers may have additional cancellation, return or refund rights. Where those rights apply, they take precedence over conflicting conditions in this policy.

Photographed before dispatch
Every GLYDE wetsuit is photographed front and back before it leaves our warehouse. These photographs record the condition of the wetsuit before dispatch and help us assess any concerns fairly.
Please inspect your wetsuit carefully before trying it on. We recommend taking clear photographs of the front and back, including any area you are concerned about.
If you notice a cut, mark, damaged seam or other issue, contact Dan@glydeswim.com before wearing the wetsuit.
We also inspect and may photograph returned wetsuits. Dispatch photographs, customer photographs and the returned product are considered together. Photographs assist our assessment but do not replace your consumer rights.
Read the instructions and watch the fitting video
Before trying on your wetsuit, read the instructions supplied with it and watch our fitting video.
Fitting and care information may also be included in your aftercare email. Please check your spam or junk folder if you cannot find it.
Correct positioning makes a significant difference to comfort and movement. A wetsuit that has not been worked far enough up the legs, hips and torso can feel unnecessarily tight through the shoulders and neck.
If you are uncertain, contact us before swimming in it.
Protect the wetsuit when trying it on
Smooth outer neoprene is vulnerable to cuts, punctures and damage from concentrated pulling.
Before fitting your wetsuit:
- Remove rings, watches, bracelets and other jewellery.
- Check fingernails and toenails for sharp edges.
- Choose a clean fitting area away from rough floors, stones and sharp objects.
- Make sure your hands are clean.
- Use suitable fitting gloves.
- Allow enough time to fit the wetsuit slowly.
Do not rush, pinch small sections of neoprene or use your nails to pull the material.
Gloves help, but they are not a guarantee
Gloves reduce the risk of nail damage but do not make the wetsuit damage-proof.
Long nails can still apply concentrated pressure through a glove. Rough, damaged or unsuitable gloves can also harm the outer surface.
We recommend clean, well-fitting gloves with a soft, smooth grip. Suitable coated gardening gloves can provide grip, but they must be free from dirt, rough coatings or sharp edges.
Use the pads of your fingers and broad areas of your hands. Avoid digging in with your fingertips.
Damage caused during fitting does not become a manufacturing fault simply because gloves were worn.
Using the inside-out fitting method
The lined inner surface is generally more resistant to fingernail damage than the smooth outer neoprene.
Following our fitting video, turn the wetsuit partly inside out and gradually roll or work it into position, handling the lining where possible. This can be particularly useful for people with long nails.
The lining is not tear-proof. Continue to use gentle, controlled movements and avoid forceful pulling.
Work the material upward in small steps
Start at the lower legs and gradually move the material upward.
Make sure there is sufficient material at the knees, thighs and hips before positioning the torso and shoulders.
Do not pull forcefully on the thigh panels to drag the crotch into place. Work the available material upward from below instead.
Avoid using the neckline, zip, zip cord, seams or a single small section of neoprene as a lifting handle.
If a section will not move, stop and reposition the surrounding material rather than pulling harder.
Zips, closures and taking the wetsuit off
Follow the instructions for your particular model, especially where it has a front zip or a different closure arrangement.
Do not force a zip that is caught or misaligned. Check for trapped lining, neoprene, hair or other obstructions.
When removing the wetsuit, release the closures fully and peel the suit down gradually. Avoid yanking the arms or legs, standing on the wetsuit or dragging it over rough ground.
Damage caused by forced zips, trapped material or excessive pulling is not covered by the express warranty where that handling caused the damage.
How a new wetsuit should feel
A swimming wetsuit should fit closely without causing pain, numbness or restricting normal breathing.
Before deciding it is too small, check that the legs, crotch, hips, torso and underarms are positioned correctly.
Choosing a larger suit simply because it feels more comfortable on land can result in excess water entering when swimming. However, a suit that is genuinely too small should not be forced.
For fitting help, email Dan@glydeswim.com or text +64 21 808 022. Include your height, weight, model, size and a description of the problem.
Keep the wetsuit dry and its tags attached while assessing the fit if you may need a change-of-mind return.
Nail nicks, cuts and punctures
Nail nicks can appear as small crescent-shaped or V-shaped cuts in the outer neoprene. The appearance of a cut can help an assessment, but shape alone does not conclusively establish its cause.
Cuts caused by fingernails, toenails, jewellery, sharp objects or incorrect handling are accidental damage rather than manufacturing defects.
Other examples include:
- Punctures caused by sharp objects
- Tears caused by pinching and pulling a small area
- Cuts from watches, rings or zip edges
- Abrasion from rocks, rough floors or pool edges
- Damage caused while forcing the suit on or off
Contact us if damage occurs. Many small neoprene cuts can be repaired.
One-year wetsuit warranty
GLYDE wetsuits have a 12-month express warranty from the original purchase date, covering manufacturing defects in materials and workmanship.
This includes manufacturing faults affecting:
- Stitching
- Seams
- Bonding
- Construction
- Neoprene or lining where a manufacturing defect is established
The warranty covers defects. It does not cover accidental damage, misuse or normal wear and tear.
Wear, heavy use and excessive use
A wetsuit’s condition depends on how often it is worn, the conditions in which it is used and how it is handled and cared for.
Our express warranty does not cover ordinary deterioration caused by use, or damage caused by use outside the product’s intended purpose or care instructions.
Examples may include:
- Surface abrasion from repeated contact with equipment or rough surfaces
- Wear caused by repeated forceful fitting and removal
- Permanent compression caused by unsuitable storage
- Material deterioration caused by prolonged or unsuitable chemical exposure
- Damage from activities for which the particular wetsuit was not designed
Frequent training or racing does not automatically invalidate your warranty. We assess whether the issue is reasonable wear, damage caused by use, or a defect. Premature failure during the product’s intended use may still be covered.
Chemicals and lubricants
Use only lubricants confirmed as suitable for your particular wetsuit and approved by GLYDE.
Do not assume a lubricant is suitable simply because it is marketed for sport or skin use.
Our express warranty does not cover damage caused by incompatible substances, including unsuitable oils, petroleum-based products, solvents, bleach, harsh detergents or other chemicals.
Avoid transferring sunscreen or other skin products onto the material where possible. Follow the product-specific care instructions.
Pool use does not automatically invalidate a warranty. However, damage caused by chemical exposure outside the product’s intended use or by failing to follow its care instructions may be excluded.
Rinsing and drying
After use:
- Rinse the wetsuit thoroughly with clean, cool fresh water.
- Remove sand, salt and other residue gently.
- Follow the supplied washing instructions.
- Allow the wetsuit to dry naturally in a shaded, ventilated area.
- Dry both the lining and outer surface before long-term storage.
Unless expressly permitted by the product instructions, do not machine wash, tumble dry, iron, dry-clean or use hot water.
Do not leave the wetsuit wet in a bag for extended periods. Mould, odours or deterioration caused by damp storage are not manufacturing defects.
Storage and transport
Store your wetsuit away from direct sunlight, heaters and excessive heat.
Avoid:
- Hot vehicles
- Narrow hangers that concentrate weight on the shoulders
- Tight folding or prolonged compression
- Heavy objects placed on the wetsuit
- Contact with sharp objects, exposed zips or rough equipment
- Storage while wet or dirty
Use the storage method recommended for your model. Damage caused by unsuitable storage or transport is not covered by the express warranty.
Cosmetic changes
Minor surface scuffs, logo wear and changes in appearance arising from ordinary use are generally wear and tear.
However, cosmetic concerns are not automatically excluded if they were present on delivery, result from a manufacturing defect or mean the product does not meet applicable quality requirements.
Alterations and repairs
Please contact us before attempting a repair for an issue you believe is a manufacturing fault.
An alteration or repair may affect a claim where it caused, worsened or prevents reliable assessment of the issue. An unrelated repair does not automatically cancel the entire warranty.
We can provide a repair video where appropriate or suggest an independent wetsuit repair company. Any paid repair must be agreed before work begins.
Returning a wetsuit
For a voluntary change-of-mind return, contact us within 30 days of delivery.
The wetsuit must be unused, clean, dry, undamaged and in resalable condition, with original packaging and all tags attached and unbroken. Careful dry fitting is permitted; swimming in the wetsuit makes it ineligible for a voluntary change-of-mind return.
Return postage is at your expense.
Wetsuits purchased at more than 20% off the regular price qualify for store credit only for eligible change-of-mind returns. Credit equals the amount paid for the product, excluding delivery charges.
These conditions do not limit remedies for faulty products or mandatory overseas cancellation rights.
Making a claim
Email Dan@glydeswim.com with:
- Your name and order number or other proof of purchase
- The wetsuit model, size and purchase date
- A description of the issue and when it first appeared
- Clear photographs, where possible
- Relevant information about use, fitting and care
We may request an inspection. We consider the available evidence before deciding whether the issue is a manufacturing defect, accidental damage or wear and tear.
Where we are responsible for a fault, we will provide the appropriate remedy and cover reasonable return shipping costs where applicable.
Your legal rights
Our 12-month express warranty does not set a maximum lifespan for your wetsuit or remove rights after that period.
Products must meet applicable requirements for quality, durability and fitness for purpose. We will not reject a valid statutory claim simply because the express warranty has expired, the product was discounted or the original packaging is unavailable.
Nothing in this policy limits your rights under the New Zealand Consumer Guarantees Act 1993, Fair Trading Act 1986 or mandatory consumer laws applicable to international purchases.
