Decades of Experience Behind Every Recommendation.
Expertise is not simply knowing what worked for you. It is understanding why it worked—and recognising when another swimmer needs something completely different.
For more than 25 years, Dan Feisst has worked across swim coaching, high-performance swimming, adult squads, video analysis, retail, wetsuit fitting, product design and event delivery. Few people in New Zealand have experienced swimming from all these angles.
We have coached elite swimmers, but we also understand that age-group swimmers and triathletes are not scaled-down elite athletes. Bodies change with age. Mobility, shoulder movement, breathing, recovery, confidence and tolerance for compression can all influence what a swimmer needs. The fastest-looking wetsuit is not always the suit that will help someone swim their best.
Video analysis allows us to see stroke mechanics, alignment, body position and unnecessary drag. Coaching shows us how those things change as fatigue develops. Hydrodynamics helps us understand where lift, flexibility and stability can improve performance.
More than 20 years importing, distributing and retailing multiple leading wetsuit brands has also given us genuine material knowledge. We understand what different neoprene types, thicknesses, coatings, seams and panel placements actually do on real bodies—not simply what a marketing brochure claims they do.
We have spent more than 15 years fitting thousands of swimmers. We speak with swimmers every day in our stores, on pool decks and at events. A fitting room tells us one part of the story; a cold start line, rough-water swim and tired finish line tell us the rest. Having delivered more than 300 swimming and multisport events, we see how equipment performs in the real world.
That combination of coaching, retail, materials, hydrodynamics, fitting and event experience is exceptionally rare in New Zealand.
We do not begin with the product. We begin with the person—their goals, swimming history, body shape, stroke, age, confidence, water conditions and budget.
The best experts do not pretend to know everything. We know what we know—and, just as importantly, we know what we do not know. That means we ask better questions, give honest advice and recommend what will genuinely help you swim with greater comfort, confidence and speed.
